Invitation to Haiku

Within an hour after blasting out of the Los Angeles basin, phrases started coming into my head. I knew what they wanted to be; their 5 and 7 syllable forms told me.

I amuse myself through hours at the wheel by playing with those syllables. Here's an example, written as I drove out of California Gold Country on fragrant mountain roads:

Full heart swells upstream
Rebel tears escape the dam
Hot pine dust pure joy

I'm aiming for a haiku a day. Will you join me?

I'll also post occasional prose accounts of my adventures, along with photos.
